A Dance with the Elements by Josefina Gordh

Josefina Gordh, a fiber artist from Crestone, CO, will give a presentation on the artistic processes and inspiration she uses to create one of a kind scarves, clothing, and home goods.  Nature is her primary source of inspiration, and the plants and animals found in Crestone bear the most influence on her artwork today.  Once she understands the essence of her subject, Josefina designs and carves printing blocks, dyes her fabrics, prints and paints her motifs, and sews the finished piece.  Fabrics include silk, linen, and velvet.  Josefina will explain her various techniques and will bring some tools and printing blocks as well as samples of her work that will be for sale.
No workshop in afternoon.
