The Heart of Colorado FiberArts Guild is a non-profit organization serving Chaffee County Colorado full and part-time residents.  It has evolved as a Guild that recognizes all fiber artists in all types of mediums.  Our membership includes: Weavers, Spinners, Seamstresses, Quilters, Knitters, Felters, Embroiderers, Crocheters, Beaders and all other forms of FiberArt.

The Mission of the Guild is to support the education of members, to encourage public awareness of the quality and creativity expressed in all forms of fiber arts and to establish a sense of community amongst the membership.  The Guild also supports community scholarships and charitable giving.

Members and their guests are welcome at the monthly Guild meetings on the first Friday of the month from September through May.  Meetings rotate between Buena Vista and Salida.  Meetings start off at 9:30 am with 30 minutes of socializing followed by a business meeting.  The members then share their finished projects in a show and tell followed by an educational program presented by a member or an outside fiber artist.  The Guild also offers several workshops on various fiber art techniques and mediums.

The Guild hosts an Annual Wearable Art Fashion Show, Boutique and Brunch every October at the Salida SteamPlant.  Members also have the opportunity to sell any unwanted fibers, books, tools or other supplies at its annual stash sale held on the first Saturday in June in Salida.

HCFG offers many opportunities for its members to become involved in the organization.  Click on the drop down menu and check out the Committee Responsibilities and the Events Responsibilities as well as the Bylaws for the responsibilities of the Board Members.  You also don’t want to miss the Community Events with its listing of various occasions throughout the year the support the fiber arts and local artists.
