Fiberarts Exhibit at the Steamplant in Salida through September. Congratulations to members for peoples' choice awards: 1st place - Gene Marsh The Salida Fiber Festival, first held in 2012, takes place in Riverside Park in Salida and is a two day event held the weekend following Labor Day in September. This event typically features around 60 vendors from all over the West. The festival also has an activity tent for children young and old, demonstrations both in a set-aside tent and at vendors’ booths, three silent auctions and three pop-up fashion shows during the weekend, a fiber art exhibition at the SteamPlant, a beer garden featuring locally made libations, a Colorway Contest, and an Instagram booth. Organized by an all-volunteer committee, the festival is always looking for volunteers to help the weekend of the festival and throughout the year on the committee.
